Okay I am trying to help my niece with some math and I can't for the life of me figure this one out!



There is a triangle and a rectangle both have same perimeter (which isn't given)



Triangle is x, x+1,x+2

Rectangle is x+1,x-3

Anyone now how to solve?

Have to solve for value of each side then get perimeter

ezrunner, here it is:

given: triangle's perimeter = rectangle's perimeter

this will be the mother equation:

a + b + c [triangle] = 2w + 2l [rectangle]

x + (x+1) + (x+2) = 2(x+1) + 2(x-3)

3x + 3 = 2x + 2 + 2x - 6

3x + 3 = 4x - 4

x = 7

?

maybe you can help me now since i've been trying to figure my IMAPworkemail to get pushed to my 8320. haha
