How long does it normally take to get this activated???

Another question is it possible to use any of telenav w/o a phone signal what about rural areas, and if not is there any software you can get straight gps on?? I tend to doubt this because maps are so big, but worth a shot?

not sure about the telenav question but the other answer is telenav is the only GPS software available now to bbs. Some are being developed but not available right now

Our Nextel rep tells us that it can take up to 24 hours for the Telenav service to activate fully, though mine was up and working within an hour.

To answer your 2nd question....if you were in a very rural area in which you couldn't get a Nextel signal, I don't think that the Telenav application would work. The GPS function would probably be able to get a fix from the satellites, but I doubt the mapping/navigation features of Telenav would work without the BB being able to talk to the Nextel network.

When TeleNav is added to your Nextel account, it takes up to 4 hours before TeleNav operations can verify the service change. Of you order TeleNav from their website, it takes about 2 minutes.

I just activated mine today. It took about 4 hours from the time I called Nextel to the time it worked.
