Default Browsing Costs

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry for the noob question, but I have become really confused in regards to costs on the BB. I am getting a BB 7250 from Alltel and I want the capability to HTML browse (in other words, search any site I want to) and to recieve e-mail. What exactly would be the costs to me inorder to be able to do this. Will the $5.99/month charge (which includes the normal internet access on all phones) suffice for my needs. Or will I have to get the data plans which quite frankly are expensive. $45.99/month is too much to pay on top of the normal voice plan I also have.

Is there any way to get HTML browsing capabilities and e-mail capabilities for less? Are there any third party providers I could use?

Thanks

You need the data plan for the BB in order to receive email or browse the web. Go with the unlimited plan, it's worth it and no surprises on your bill.

As far as I know, in order to activate a BB you MUST have a dataplan. You don't have to have a calling plan, but you have to have the dataplan. It's that way with Nextel anyway.

Yeah, jwaters is correct. With Bell Mobility (Canada,) you must have a dataplan. I also agree with him in getting the unlimited access. Why get pissed off once a month when you get your bill?

The unlimited data plan is the only way to go. I recently switched over to the blackberry and had the same anxiety about the additional $45 per month. I could not be happier I did it.
