Used PIN Hi, I recently purchased a used BB Pearl 8100, while the phone is great, I cannot use BIS apparently because the PIN on the phone is already in use. Is there anyway to have either my carrier (in this case AT&T) or Blackberry remove the current registration on the PIN so I can use it? |
You have to contact the original owner and have him get his old carrier to release the PIN. You can try to work with AT&T yourself but they're pretty resistant to that. |
Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100) Easiest way is to contact the original owner! Otherwise contact ATT and ask to speak directly to the blackberry support they can free the PIN for you to use |
Ah, I see. The main reason I even bothered posting, was because, I do not have the original owner's contact information, apparently, neither does the person I bought the phone second hand from. Out of curiosity, is the PIN totally needed to access BIS through my carrier? For instance, if I were to get the BB Data Access tacked onto my current plan, would I be able to use it or would I be wasting my money w/o being able to use the PIN? |
You will be wasting your time without having the PIN released, no push email which is the heart of a BB. You need to call ATT as recommeded above. Good luck--and welcome to the BForums. |
