Forgive me is this is a stupid question, but I am somewhat new to the BlackBerry world.

I initially installed the desktop redirector and used it with my Outlook client, but I recently unistalled it and configured an Internet e-mail account and added my exchange e-mail account to the list.

I am still getting the reconciliation e-mails every 3-4 hours. I have turned off the reconciliation option and I send e-mails using the web client option. I am assuming that these e-mails that I am receiving, which contain a .dat attachment, were used by the desktop redirector, which is no longer there, to reconcile e-mails. I don't care about reconciling e-mails, actually I do, but I would rather have the ability to read attachments, which is why I uninstalled the desktop redirector and configured the web client to begin with.

Basically, my question is how do I stop the e-mails that contain the .dat attachments now that I am using the web client instead of the desktop redirector?

Those messages you are receiving are part of the email redirection function of Redirector.

In your handheld, go to Options > Service Book and delete the Desktop [CMIME] service book. This should stop your handheld from sending email and trying to use Redirector.
