Default Uk - O2 Payg

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

I'm thinking of purchasing a BlackBerry just to use it as a normal phone, as well as to pull my e-mails from my own IMAP server.

Would this be possible by using an O2 PAYG sim?

Thanks,
Adam

The key is that inorder to use the BlackBerry service to read E-Mail, you must have a BlackBerry enabled SIM. Do you know if you can add it to that SIM?

Hmm... all I require is IMAP-level access. Is this not available over GPRS?

I may be out of my depth here, but I'd like to understand the rational behind having to have the sim BlackBerry enabled.

Thanks,
Adam

You can think of getting a gprs as a data only connection, no BlackBerry, while a GPRS on the BlackBerry gives you a "vpn" type connection to RIM which routes all BlackBerry traffic.

Here's a link to how to set up the web client -->
