Wirelessly posted (8800: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8310/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Move it to your Media Card, navigate to it from the BlackBerry, like the media player, and install from there.

Hey I've been trying to figure this out because I got a few .jad files off the internet for games I wanted. How do you find these .jad files on an 8130 pearl? I find all my music and video's through a media thing on the phone but I can't find these .jad files. Any help?

open media, then the berry key, then explore, then find it and click it.

if you don't find the files in the media player , don't forget to click the "Menu Key" button inside it. Select "Explore" and "Media Card".

Default That process doesn't work for me

When I move any jad file to the SD card in my Storm or my Pearl and click on it, it starts to try and download some file and then fails. Nothing ever gets installed.

The Storm doesn't have WiFi and I don't subscribe to either T-Mobile or Blackberry's internet packages. Are those necessary to install jad files? I have installed a number of other programs but they always included an executable files I could run on the desktop.

My Bold has a data plan, I have internet access, but I have the same problem.

When I click the .jad file in the SD card, it tries to download and I get a message saying "download failed" and in the details it says "907 invalid COD File not found"

Any ideas ?

Thanks.

You need to access the link for the JAD file via the BlackBerry Browser. You can't install a JAD file from the SD card like that without having the associated COD file.

It attempts to work for me off the sd card but ultimately fails. giving the reason that an invalid cod file was not found

anyone know how to get/make one of those?

They have to come from the program writer of the app you want to install. Using your pc you might be able to find the files for internet/pc download on the application developer's site.

To install this way you need the JAD file but you also need ALL of the COD files that are necessary for the installation, and the JAD and COD files need to exist in the same directory on your SD card.

You can use something like OTA Downloader (Google for this) and you can pass an OTA URL to it and it will download the JAD and all the necessary COD files to your PC. Copy them to the SD card and install from there. This method really does work very well.
