Default BES and Domino synchronize deleted Users.

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone.
First off Happy New Year to everybody

I just have a question wether it is somehow possible that users that are deleted in Domino automatically get deleted from the BES too?
Is there some sort of NAB polling intervall or sth like that that could do this?

Greetings

/Natow

In Notes 7.x, your personal address book is what is synched over the air with a BES. I believe it started with 7.xx (at least I know this worked with 7.02), you can have your local names.nsf file synched into your personal mailbox file. A copy of names.nsf is copied & synched into your mailbox. If I remember correctly, this was a manual process in 7.02. You did an Action to force the sync of names.nsf to the mailbox copy. So any deletion from names.nsf will be deleted from your BB. I've been on Notes 8 for about 8 months now so I don't remember the exact steps for Notes 7. In Notes 8 it can be done automatically as part of standard replication. It's something you can set in Preferences. You can also do a manual copy of your Journal.nsf into the mailbox with Notes 8 with an Action and those entries will by synched OTA. These will be memos in your BB.

Hi DBltap
First off thanks for your reply.
But I did not mean the syncro of the private NAB to the device itself.
This function works flawlessly.
I rather meant the synchronisation between terminated users from the "real" Server NAB to the BES registered user.
Basically that users that are deleted from the NAB also get deleted from the BES on Serverside. So that these users devices get wiped off the BES too and nolonger try to resync flooding the log with "Call to NIFind by ID failed" and "User could not be found in the directory" errors.
THe fact that the BES acknowledges that a user is not existant anymore is already pretty positive, but somehow it does not "act inteligently" and delete the User from the BES once he realizes that the user does not exist anymore.
Is there some sort of setting for that?
What would happen if I would tell the adminP process to delete the users state db too? Will that also clear the user from the BES?

THere must be some sort of polling setting which when realizing that the user no longer exists starts to wipe the BB, lock it, delete the PIN from the BES and also removes the User from the BES system?

I really would apreaciate your help

Well.. The party-line answer is..... Tivoli Identity Manager. That handles the orphaned accounts not only in Domino but across the enterprise. And that would also get them out of the BES. I personally don't know of any direct synch between Domino & BES for removing accounts. But I don't spend much time on that side these days. I know those guys work pretty closely together as Lotus has developers at RIM pretty often.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
