I don't have that brand. I have heard others recommend them, and Seido is a respected company and sponsor here.

I have used ScreenPatronus almost exclusively for several years and I will attest to their durability. Others here praise ScreenGuardz and Best Skins Ever.

You're obviously in the States, but for anyone reading this who's in Europe, I recommend Marc Daniel at Displayschutzfolien von pda-schutzfolien - dem großen Anbieter bei eBay..

Not sure if he's stocks protectors for the BB range, but I use some I bought for my old Palm and cut them to size. Not pretty, but effective.

They're designed for screens with styli so they're pretty rugged.

Post Best Skins... 8310 Curve

Hi...

I have tried the Best Skins on my 8310 and it seems to be good. I have not tried all the others. Some other forum users say the fit of some of the other vendors on the 8310 is better.

Maby someone else can comment on this if they have experience with other skins??

I purchased the full Best Skins package for the 8310 and two sets come with the order. Around $15.00. The side pieces do not wrap on the black area of the 8310 and were difficult to attach. It takes time a patience. Once they set, they have conformed but I feel the edges of them somewhat.
Also, some people say the Best Skins on the 8310 affect the feel of the device on the ear but I don't feel this. (the cutout on the speaker) I do notice the side pieces somewhat but the overall look is transparent and protect the device.
(thats why be bought this skin, correct )

I had the 8800 previous to the 8310 Curve and bought an unbranded type of skin on eBay for the 8800. It was it is similar and almost identical to the Best Skins I just purchased for the 8310. I recently provided that 8800 BB to another user in our company. I peeled off the skin and the phone looks brand new as far as wear and tear. After seeing this, the skin does protect the phone from daily wear and tear. Depending on use, you will get different mileage on the skin as it will take a lot of abuse before looking ragged. One of the vendors offer a lifetime warranty but I am not sure which one.

If there is anything about installing a skin, it is patience and read the directions prior to attempting installing anything. One of my managers saw my skin on the 8800 and I offered to install it. He ordered it and made a mess of the install as he did not have enough patience to work through the process and did not ask for help! He overlapped the roller on the 8800 and I had to do micro surgery on the roller to recover it.

You have to take out the battery and discarge the power button. In most cases, you will have to use soap water to adhere the skin to the device. After the skins are installed, in the instructions, they recommend you leave the phone off without the battery for 24hrs. This is to protect the electronics in the event moisture is somehow introduced into the inside of the device while your applying the skin(s). You have to use a soap / water solution without bubbles (leave the soap solution sit for some time so there are no bubbles) Also, do not attempt to use unclean fingers!! Most important as you can contanminate the underside of the film and leave a nasty finger print in the middle of your screen! (great for CSI fans)...

The Best Skins are cheaper than some of the others but install fine. Some of the other users here have indicated the other vendors send better instructions and have a better fit so your milage may vary. I had to download the PDF for Best Skins and just followed the instructions. The instructions are not included in the mailer to conserve mailing costs...

Good luck...

H.
