Hi,

I have 2 new BB smart card readers (SCR) and Im trying to pair with the PC and I can not.

The SCR software can not detect the SCR. I put the ID of the device on the software and is trying to looking for it but can not. It says "Unable to connect to the specified Blackberry smart card reader".

I have another SCR and I do'nt have problems to pair with the computer only with the new ones.

The SCR have the last OS.

Do you know what could be the problem?

Did you ever get an answer to this problem? I have the same problem and can't find the answer to it.

Does any body found a solution for this problem? I bought another SCR and the is same problem.

2 different smart card readers, 3 different bluetooth usb dongles (Dlink, Rocketfish, IOgear), still it doesnt work?

Just got off the phone with RIM, their stand is if Windows picks up the bluetooth drivers then the Smart Card reader is supported...
I am waiting for a call back from Senior support on this matter and will
be sure to update this posting with (hopefully) an answer.

Unfortunately, they did not have a good solution. The only fix was a replacement device and it worked first time. There is most likely a hardware issue but rim does not acknowledge that there is an issue.

rich_benson, did you get back the SCR's and Blackberry gave you new devices?

Finally we have a fix! RIM had to write a new scr release, which I just received today. I have confirmed it works and is published on blackberry.com site
FYI - You will need to update the scr software with application loader after installing the fix.
