My BB is on my BES at work, and all mail is filtered by my Barracuda Spam Firewall before hitting the Exchange/BES server. I have no issues with spam... its my wife that has spam problems.
She works in an office of two people, they have 2 8830's through Alltel and are using the redirector. I did not even set up a
email address. They host their own email, and have no "purchased" spam protection. The built-in "Junk E-Mail" filter in Outlook is working quite well for them on the desktop. I was the one that set up both BB's for them and have a couple questions on killing the spam. It's bad enough, that they are afraid of missing legit mail due to all the spam, and after seeing it first hand on my wife's BB... I would agree.
1) Their inboxes on the desktop do get some spam, but not much as most is redirected in the junk folder. I have unchecked the junk folder so it will not reconcile the junk folder to the BB. I was thinking this would be enough, alas it is not. Its like Outlook is not even processing the messages, just sending them on.
Anyway to force redirector to let Outlook "process" the messages before sending them to the BB?
2) Any suggestions? They don't have it in the budget right now to purchase good spam protection, they may moving back to having email hosted off site w/ a company that has a 'Cuda in the near future. In the meantime is there anything I can do for them to help with it?
