Blackberry (whatever model 8800r or 8130..etc) syncs fine with MS Outlook personal Contacts or any MS EXchange public contact folder. But it continuously fails with "Skipping Invalid record" when it sync with one specific public Contact folders of my MS Exchange server (let's call it Public Contact Folder XYZ).
The Blackberry synchronization would fail (on any contact entry of that
Public Contact Folder XYZ. Sometimes at entry #18, sometimes at entry #12 etc..it's never the same).

Wexxx8217;ve tried a lot of troubleshootings: reinstalling latest Blackberry Desktop Managers, reinstalling latest Blackberry OS on the Handhelds, Installing the latest available Desktop managers, but that would not work. Users keep getting xxx8216;xxx8221;Skipping Invalid recordxxx8217;xxx8221; when synchronizing.

As a last resort, I also contacted the local Blackberry Support + Rogers Blackberry (the carrier of my Blackberry) Tech support, and no one knows what do. Well, thet ask me to contact the owner of that public folder, but this owner has no technical knowledge about such...so he has no clue on what to work on.

PS: I can see that both that public folder and the Blackberry do not share common entries formats and are constantly not able to update (so rejecting) each other entries formats ...but who whould work on this?

I would compare one of those records to ones that do make it across. That folder may have been imported differently. I would review some of the suspect records for a missing first or last name and special characters. Look for "(" in the phone number, etc.

It can happen with any PIM item, mostly the Calendar though. How many contacts are in this Public Folder? I'd becareful if it's more than 6000, the contacts DB on the device gets slower and does not perform as it should. I think it's a limit on the DB itself even though the device memory is ok.

I was working with a guy once who had 16,000 contacts and the lookup feature didn't even work, but the contacts only used 3MB of memory.

There are 3589 entries in that contact folder.
At first, it was easy: I would pick a conflicting entry and simply correct the conflicting fields that the BB was rejecting...but I realized that I would have to do that manually with more than 600 entries....
