| Recurring appointments occurring 5 hours earlier and a Exception Processing Message Please Login to Remove! I am running Outlook 2007 with Vista and 4.3 (although I upgraded from 4.2 to try and fix the problem).
Basically I have a bunch of recurring appointments that are coming up incorrect on the handheld. I have it set up to sync only from Outlook and that "Outlook wins" in the event of a conflict.
Most of the recurring appointments are bring shifted 5 hours earlier than they are supposed to occur. This is a big problem and I can't figure out how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.
I am also getting an error message when I start up the DM. The message is below:

Don't know about the error message.
Re calendar issue, are Outlook, computer clock and blackberry all set to the same time zone?

| They are indeed all set to EST. It must be a problem with recurring appointments because all of the other appointments appear fine.

That was my best guess and I don't have a second best guess.
Just recurring appointments, huh? And *every* recurring appoint, too?
Do you have a bunch of them? I thinking delete them, sync again, then recreate them from scratch. Perhaps they got boogered up somehow. But I'm guessing.

| it's not even all of the recurring appointments, just about half of them and they are all consistently 5 hours ahead. I've been with RIM tech support for nearly two hours and every update/reset/setting check has failed. They have at least one great tech though.
this is not supposed to be this hard. It very well could be Outlook 2007 that's messing everything up. we had a problem where my iPhone would not sync with Outlook 2007, it just kept crashing. | | Offline

If you figure this out, mdbray, post an update. I'm really curious.

| Did you find a solution to the recurring meeting problem? I'm having a similar issue with recurring meetings showing either 7 or 8 hours earlier. Here's a little more info about my environment:
1) Problematic recurring meetings were scheduled after Feb. 4. Anything before is fine on BB. Outlook 2007 calendar is correct for all.
2) I upgraded computers (from XP to Vista) about the same time this problem started. I didn't have the problem when I was running MS Outlook 2003 in XP. I'm now running MS Outlook 2007 w/SP1 in a non-Exchange, BIS environment.
3) I've stumped Verizon and RIM support (about 5 total hours of support time). We've wiped the device, upgraded the device software, applied the DST patch, confirmed time zones, and on and on!
4) I'm running BB device software 4.3.
Thanks in advance for your help. I'm pulling my hair out on this one. | | Offline

| I'm also having an issue with this. I have an 8830 that is shifting all appointments (not just recurring). I double-checked the timezone last time I had the phone in-hand, and it was indeed set for Central (which is correct for us). He did not originally have the DST patch installed, but I took care of that.
I know this is originating from the phone, because we will reset the schedules in Outlook, and then they ALL shift back once the phone has synchronized again - we turned off wireless while we were modifying a few entries as a test, then turned it back on when we were done.
This one is driving me nuts! | | Offline

| I am also having the same issue. I have an 8830. Some of my recurring events are showing on the Blackberry 5 early. On my phone I'm running v4.4.4.176. I'm going to try version 4.5 of the desktop manager and see if that helps. Was anyone ever able to find a solution to this? | | Offline

| Fixed the problem I read about this error everywhere, and it was happening to me. So the way that I fixed it was as follows:
Pretty much what you need to do is, for all the recurring appointments in Outlook 2007, open them up and edit them.
So here are the steps:
1. Double click on the recurring meeting.
2. Choose "Open the series"
3. Then, right next to "Recurrence" you will see "Time Zones", click on this.
4. After you click on "Time Zones", double click on recurrence and you will see your time zone there.
5. After you do this, click "Ok" and then click Save & Close.
After you do this for all your recurring appointments, trying syncing with your blackberry again, and it will update with the correct time.
I literally spend 5 hours trying to figure this problem out and reading multiple forums, even the Smartphone forums and someone was having this same problem there. This is what they did and I decided to try it and it worked!
So, I guess the problem is with Outlook 2007 and not with Blackberry. This problem was only happening to me for recurring meetings that someone had sent me, the recurring meetings that I had setup, worked fine for me. I guess something to do with Outlook not storing the time zone? Not sure?
Let me know if you are still having any problems. | | Offline

| Exception Processing Message 0xc0000013 Parameters .... is the error message I get on Desktop Manager 4.6 almost every time I connect my Berry to the laptop. I have recently uninstalled it completely, wiped the new Bold, and... voila. It's back again.
I think it may have something to do with the Roxio software being installed (and I'm having separate calendar issues but I travel world-wide so suspect that it's my fault).
Has anyone else come across the "Exception Processing Message 0xc0000013 Parameters " aka missing disk issue? Fixes? | | Offline

| Outlook time bug This has also been an issue for me and somewhere along the way I found out the 'why', just not the fix. I cant find the link but here is what I remember.
Apparently Outlook represents meeting times as either Universal time (UTC) or Local time (GMT with an offset). The issue here is that recurring meetings use one method, individual meetings use the other. Sheesh!
Other calendar clients handle this OK, but not the Blackberry client. So if someone sets up a recurring meeting in Outlook and invites you, Blackberry will offset the time by *your* offset to GMT. So, e.g., my 12pm (lunch time) recurring meeting gets recorded as being at 4am (I am in PST time zone, so 8 hours offset). This happens because Blackberry somehow interprets Outlooks time format for recurring meetings wrong.
If the meeting is set up in a different client, then there is probably no issue. Hence the inconsistent behaviour.
Google Calender understands Outlook just fine, so its definitely a bug in Blackberrys client. It happened two years ago with my 7130e and now my 8830.
RIM - PLEASE fix this bug
-Colin

| I have had this problem for a while. When I saw the info above about updating the Timezone stuff, I immediately went over to my Outlook and started looking for appointments that have this problem. And, well, I can't find any! Maybe the latest beta OS (4.7.0.114 Hybrid) I'm running on my Storm fixed this problem.
OTOH, I seem to have a new/different problem. I also looked on my BB for signs of this problem. I didn't find that, but I did find that, on days with recurring all-day events, I can't view them all.
Example:
I have a day with 2 recurring, all-day events (both, birthdays), 1 regular, one-time appointment, and 1 recurring appointment (that's not an all-day event).
If I touch the screen to select the day in question (in Week view), but not on one of the regular appointments, up at the top, it says "John Smith's Birthday 0 of 2".
Normally, I could swipe across the top there to see the additional appointments, but now it won't let me.
If I touch on one of the regular appointments, at the top, it changes to "North Mississippi All-stars, Engine Room, 8:00p - 11:00p 3 of 4". I can swipe right-to-left to see my other appointment (which occurs at the same time), and it says "Put out trash 4 of 4".
But, if I'm on 3 of 4 and I swipe left-to-right to see appointment 2 of 4, instead it wraps and shows me 4 of 4 again. From 4 of 4, swiping in either direction takes me to 3 of 4.
So, in the end, there appears to be no way, on my Storm, to view appointment 2 of 4 for that day (the second recurring, all-day event). When it says it's showing 0 of 4, it's really showing 1 of 4, but swiping in either direction stays on 0 of 2.

| ps. I did a battery pull and then checked again and still get the same behavior. And I confirmed that, on a different day that also has 2 recurring, all-day events, and 3 regular one-time appointments, I get same behavior.
And on that one, the 3 regular appointments are all at different times. Touching on any one of those shows the appointment info at the top, but then they all say "3 of 3".
