Default iPhone question on blackberry BIS

Please Login to Remove!

I currently have a ATT 8310 with unl BIS. If I get an IPHONE to try out, can I just pop in the sim and all should work? does something need to be done on the ATT side? will it impact my contract?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

The iphone has to be activated through itunes as far as I know. You can try and see if it works I think I remember someone posting of doing just what you are asking

Not sure the Rim Servers would send data to the IPhone. I would bet the internal protocol is different. If it does work a lot of people may use it.

I think when you buy an iPhone, you have to also get the dataplan to go with it. Once activated the SIM from the BB may give you an Internet connection, not real sure about that however. You would not get push email as you do ont eh BB.

I figured that, but I don't want the switch to the Iphone data plan require me to commit to a new 2 year contract.

Maybe you can get a plan without a commitment. I seem to remember some article about a trial period for the service.
