Everything I click on "Call Log" with my cursor it says "no voice application instance" and doesn't pull it up. And now I can't just click on someone's name in the address book with the green button to call them. What is going on?

Welcome to the forums!

Did you recently try to add an application to your device and perhaps delete the phone application?

First I'd try a hard reset by removing the battery (while the device is on) and then put it back in.

Would that erase any of my memory (like the address book)?

No, a hard reboot doesn't lose any data.
