Default Accessing company voice mail

I've not been able to determine how to access my voicemail at work. Previously, I was used the following speed dial string:

(my phonenumber) pp*7 (my extension) # (my password) #

It doesn't work on my BB.

What do I need to do to get it to work?

What happens when you use that string? Can you provide us with a little more info?

I get a two toned beeping sound. I'm wondering if the "p" digit isn't working as the pause I intended.

Is the "p" digit a regular letter p or is it the pause icon "p?"

When you're typing in the number, when you want the pause, hit the menu key and select "add pause."

I am attempting to edit the speed dial number and don't see an option for add pause.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8100/4.2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

This is how I access my Voicemail...I dial into a main number, then hit the pound sign, then dial my 7 digit phone number, then I dial my 4 digit password. Can I do that sequence on my BB?

Sure, just program a speed dial as " (main number) # (7 digit phone number) (4 digit password) "

You may need to enter some "pauses" in certain areas in the manner John Clark describes above, if the phone system wants them to be there. You may just need to toy with it. I expect you might need a pause or two after the main number.

The only issue I have had is sometimes with the delay in connecting to the VM the BB sends the numbers too soon. I had to add a bit more pause time.
