Welcome to the BBForums.

Some Nokia users have been successful using Desktop Manager and Switch Device Manager to move their data from one device to the BB. If you have a Nokia to mini USB cable, you might could do so.

Another option is to export all your data from the Nokia to some database or Outlook and then sync that database or Outlook back to the BB. The BB will sync seamlessly with Outlook, so getting your Nokia data herded in that direction would be a plus.

Good, I know that is all you need to do, but the middleman in this process is called "Desktop Manager". Without it, nothing gets to your BB contacts, etc.

Download it here. For this simple task, get version 4.2 Service Pack 2, without the Roxio Media Manager.

Once installed and your BB connected to the PC, it will recognize the BB.

You select SYNC > Sync Confguration > Advanced (I think). You will want to tell it to find the ASCII csv file you have, and in that same area, you will need to tell it to IMPORT. I don't recall the exact process, but it will make more sense once you are in it.

good luck.

oh , we learn more now. Your company gave it to you? Is it on a BES, BlackBerry Enterprise Service? How does the device get your email?

Is your PC on Vista? What version of Desktop Manager did you find on your CD (Help > About)?

You are welcome. With Vista, you must have Desktop Manager ver 4.2 SP 2, or ver 4.3.

You could already be on the BES which is a normal corporate email service to blackberrys. Look on your BB at Options > Security Options > General Settings > scroll to the very bottom... what is stated there under "Services"?

If the error is the same, the problem could be your .csv

I'd a nokia 6600 prior my first blackberry i transfer the contacts to the SIM put the sim in the BB and imported the contacts to the device, through the directory in the BB (i think).

It was a mess, i'd one contact per phone, but all the information was on the blackberry and i fix the duplicate contacts in outlook with a previos sync with de Desktop Manager.

hope that helps
