Default Personal email on BES

Please Login to Remove!

I've read somewhere that on a BES device, it's possible to get personal email pop/imap in read-only mode (no send). I can't find that article any more

Is this possible?

If so, will admin see my personal emails?

Thanks!

There should be a setup internet email icon on your home screen. If not go to the AT&T BIS website and set it up there. Yes, they can see your emails.

I tried to follow the bis setup page to create an account. It seemed to succeeded. However, I was unable to log in from the PC browser. Back to BB it says my info is not correct. So I clicked on "Forgot password". A message was sent to my device with "your password is:". Nothing after :.

I don't know what happened so I tried to create the account again. Now it says an account already exist with that PIN.

What happened? How can I reset the password so that I can log in?

thanks!

Perhaps there is an IT Policy preventing it. Also, remember that the company may read your person email if it comes in via BIS. Not saying they will, but they can it they want to do so.

It's possible to send and receive as long as not restricted by IT policy on the BES server.

From what I've seen, I'd recommend calling your carrier and having them just delete the BIS account so you can try creating it again. You should be able to log in via the browser on the PC. you should actually also be able to set up a BIS account on your PC.

It just sounds like something went wrong during your setup.

I want to know if to set up my gmail, I got to call my carrier and ask for a BIS/BES plan, or my IT administrator can do it thru the server by permissions and not force me to upgrade my current plan'

BES comes with access to BIS (up to 10 accounts)
BIS is just BIS.

So if you have BES your already have access to BIS and can just go to the site, create an account and set up your gmail.

You had an existing BIS account (I am presuming that it was enabling your work email). When you upgraded to BES, Yes they told you or your IT Admin to disable the BIS account mapping so that you don't get duplicate Work email. Either you or your IT Admin (if they originally set up your BIS access) can go into your BIS account and add the Gmail account and it will work in concert with the BES work email.

Was I able to answer your question or am I further confusing the issue?
