Hi -

I just got an blackberry from a friend. I went in to set up an email account but I get an error that there is already a username associated with my PIN number. My friend can't think of what the username was. How can I 'reset' the existing account and get a new username?

You have to call the carrier and have them remove the account.

Actually you need to have the original owner call the carrier and cancel their BIS account, which in turn will release the IMEI/ESN and PIN so you can set up your email.

Calling his carrier may work, but it is easier to have the previous owner do it.

Send email from blackberry. Check what email address it came from. A part before '@' could be username. If you show it to your friend that may refresh his/her memory.
