I've found a couple of threads dealing with reminders, but none of them have answered my question.

I have the BB Pearl (8100) and none of my calendar reminders seem to be working. For example, I have an event scheduled for January 30 which is configured with a 1 week reminder. I would have thought the reminder would come through on January 23. However, depending on how they count out the 7 days, it could fall on January 24 (today). Nonetheless, I have not received a reminder. In the calendar settings, I have the day set to start at 8am, so I should have received the reminder by now.

Is there another setting that I'm missing? There must be something I'm doing wrong, but I can't figure it out.

what time is the event on the 30th? you should receive the reminder at that time 7 days prior.

It's an "all day" event.

test something simpler, like set an appointment for 30 mins from now, and give it an alert for 15 mins prior.

Do you have your alerts for the Calendar set at Profile FOR the profile you have active?

Say the 7-day reminder came last night at midnight, and you had it on silent?

I have the calendar set to "vibrate," but isn't there supposed to be a pop-up screen reminder as well?

yes. But what was the state of your BB at midnight last night ?

I'd suggest troubleshooting this with something immediate.

Ok, this is odd.

I did as you suggested and created a "test" calendar entry, scheduled for 10am, and gave it a 30 minute reminder.

I checked my BB at 9:30am and, sure enough, I had a pop-up reminder.

Here's the weird part, after I dismissed that reminder, I had another pop-up reminder for the event that I started this thread over -- i.e., the "all day" January 30 event.

Why would I get my 1-week reminder for an "all day" January 30 event at 9:30am on January 24???

I suppose that the BB counts January 30 as a day and counts back 6 additional days to get to January 24. I'm fine with that, but why 9:30am???

Oh, and the state of my profile is always the same. Phone rings, everything else just vibrates.

Hidden? By what? I'm not sure I understand your question.

Nothing was on the screen other than the standard program icons.

There was nothing on the screen when I created my "test" calendar entry, but both reminders popped-up when I got the reminder for my "test" entry.

if your blackberry is either locked or in standby you wont necessarily see the reminder. Usually when i get a reminder and my device is locked, i see it when unlocked by not always, sometimes i see it when the next reminder pops

Nothing was locked. I keep my BB in the BB leather pouch, so I guess that qualifies as being in standby.

However, not many of my calendar entries have reminders. If I miss all reminders when my BB is in the pouch, I'm going to miss 99% of my reminders.

doesnt happen all the time. the reminder *should* pop up whenever you remove your BB from standby. There are times however when mine doesnt and it may be the case with yours this time. Even in holster the device should vibrate for a reminder.

Ok, I guess I won't worry too much about it until the next time I'm supposed to get a reminder. Thanks for your help.

I have this same problem!

I have a recurring event set for every day at noontime, and the reminder for one minute beforehand.

The reminder came up a couple of times and everything was great, but it soon quit popping up. Likewise, I've had other one-time event reminders fail to come up, and it's been anywhere from irritating to problematic. Everything looks good on the events themselves; it's just a toss-up on whether they'll work or not.

I wondered if some other software was causing the problems, as I think I started to really notice the issue first after I installed Ramble IM.

Thoughts?

I too am having the same issues with my event reminders. The ones I set as single events seem to work fine, but the reoccuring events either don't pop up or sometimes do but at very random times.
Can anyone help?
