Curious if I could pair 2 earpieces to my 7130e at the same time. One to talk and one for caller ID. I havn't seen a good solution to this. Watches are a good idea but I havn't heard anything good about them other than the concept. Consider the following scenario as good example of what I'm looking for:
I'm snowskiing, BB in pocket, can't get gloves off reach into pocket to see who is calling every time. Even if I did, I couldn't do it fast enough. Also, I wear a helmet, making it difficult to take earpiece off and on. I'd love to find a way where I could feel the phone vibrate in my pocket check an easy to see caller id clipped on somewhere somehow (I'd consider duct tape on my fore arm at this point), then decide whether or not I want to take the call. I've seen 1 or 2 BT devices that you wear like a pendant that have earpieces coming of them. That would be okay except for the mic location and wind noise. I've got a Voyager 510 now but will get either Jawbone or 520 before next trip skiing as I've heard great things about both. I know the Jawbone is better for the noise canceling but I've "heard" the audio is so much better on 520 that it makes up for the only slight difference in noise canceling. Don't mean to get into that here, I know somebody has a poll going on that includes both. Back on topic, I simply haven't seen anything that would work for me. So I'm considering buying whatever earpiece I can find out there with a good caller id display AND the Jawbone or 520. If I can pair both at the same time that would work.
Another option (and I like this one too) is a wired caller id that I could connect to a splitter (port of some kind I don't know what you call it) that I can listen to my MP3s but they shut off when I get a call. I like this idea because I would love to be able to put one of my stereo earpieces (although wired, it sounds awesome) in one ear and have the phone earpiece in the other. I can live with the wires. I just need a way to easily see the caller id, take a call quickly if needed and keep wind noise to a minimum (If you guessed I'm in sales and don't really want clients to know I'm on the slopes, you are right)
Also, if it won't work with the 7130e but will with a newer BB, I can do that too. I'm due for a new one but I like the 7130 just fine.
Please somebody help. I went through this last year and thought surely within the next year somebody will have something like this. I am the only one who thinks this would be really handy?
