Default Outlook vs. Desktop Manager -- who wins?

Strange problem. I'm on a 7250 using BES. When at my office I run Outlook connected to my Exchange server. When I connect the Bb and then run Desktop Manager everything syncs properly. However, after syncing I usually shut down Desktop Manager and disconnect the Bb from my PC.

After disconnecting, though, my Outlook receives an unknown error in receiving my mail - Exchange or otherwise. This error continues until I shut down Outlook and restart it, then the error clears up. It's only a minor inconvenience at this point, but has anyone heard about this type of issue and have any suggestions on how to fix it?
