Default Anyway to Disable BES internet?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there anyway to disable BES internet and use bis or wireless carieer ?

I am the bes admin for my company and we have certain ports blocked as well as using opendns to filter out sites like social networking.

Is it possible to have internet features not go through bes?

I haven't looked (yet), but I would think that is something you can block via the IT Policy.

In your IT Policy, change the following settings:

Global Items - Allow Browser = false
Browser Policy Group - Allow IBS Browser = false (removes the service providers browser if you want that gone as well)

I don't want to disable the browser...

I want to force my bes device to use "bis" browser.

bes -> device->carrier->bes->internet
bis -> device->carrier-> internet

I only want to do this for the browser...

Can it be done?

If i do as you say with global items, will that totally remove the browser? or just the bes browser?

You'd need both a BES plan and a BIS plan as well. Kinda pricey, no?

The BES plan is also a BIS plan. No need for both. (Not possible either.)

Can't you just disable MDS for the users in question? Do they need any other MDS services?

In BES Manager, just right click a user and choose 'Disable Connection and Collaboration Services'
