Default Recommended Bluetooth Ear Piece???

Please Login to Remove!

I just got the 8130 pearl and need a head set since I've always had the corded type.

There are so many choices, and I never know which to buy. I don't want to spend $70+ on those more expensive ones, but would be up to spending under that.

Anyone recommend a good ear piece that they like? Any charge through the USB?

I would suggest just getting a good one right off the bat and not spend money on something cheap and having to upgrade it later.

The Plantronics 610 was a good one that I liked.

But right now the best one I think is the Jawbone. Its well worth the money. Try ebay, I got mine for $65 instead of $120

The Plantronics Voyager 510 is the only one I've used that people didn't say I either sounded far away or I sounded like I was inside a barrel.

OP

I sell cellphones and related accessories and the following statement holds true for bluetooth "you get what you pay for"

Now if you can find a deal on a bt by all means do so. I would say 60 bucks and up if normal retail is your route

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm going to take my time and try to find a good one, rather than jump on a crappy one.

Does Verizon carry any recommended ones?

Also, how are the Jawbones? Worth the money?

I've used a Motorola H700 for a little over a year now, with no issues. And it does charge via USB.

Verizon does sell the Jawbones and a number of others. I am new to this whole Bluetooth thing but tried a cheapy originally and returned it. With the "corp" discount I got the Jawbone. It seems pretty good. One thing, the way it is designed, it does not fit in a jacket pocket all that easily.

I used the Jabra 250v from the time that it was released and still have it but it hurts my ear after wearing it for a long time so I've been using the Motorola H700 for the last 2 weeks and love it so far. Sometimes i forget to even take it off when I get into the office or home because it's so light.

I have a Jawbone that I tried for a couple weeks but never really liked the way it felt or looked. I really don't care how I look to other people but when my wife and kids even comment on how ugly the jawbone looked then I knew it was time to retire it. So now it's a spare one sitting at home on the charger just in case I ever need it.

Tough Decision. Seems like most headsets have good reviews, but many bad that follow.

Guess i'll just have to start with one and go from there.

Is the Plantronics Voyager 510 really big and bulky?
Seems like the Motorola H700 might be promising...even though it also has half and half reviews.

I have a drawer full of bluetooths. My favorite is the Motorola H700. We just got the Jawbones back in stock so I have been demoing one for about a week. Im impressed with the sound quality on it so far.

Do the Jawbones go 'in' your ear? Or do they sit right outside with a little speaker?

Also, should I be looking for a specific one that is compatible with my new Pearl 8130 or will most work with it?

I also noticed that on eBay there are a lot of people saying to make sure the headset is 100% geniune since people sell knock offs. Anyone recommend a place to get a legit H700 for a good price?

I had bought an H700 at Costco in Minneapolis while on a business trip in Dec: $54.95. I thought at the time it was a pretty good deal - and it was. Future shop here in Caglary it was and remains at $ 99.95. Anyway I promptly lost the darned thing 3 weeks later.! bummer.

So I bought an identical H700 unit NIB e-bay for $27.00 shipping incl. to Calgary just this past week. Got it now and have been using it since...exactly the same item I had from Costco.

If ya like, PM me and i'll send ya the link or the guys user name on e-bay that I bought mine from...your call.

rgds,

stk
