Default How to disable the BIS settings

Please Login to Remove!

I am implementing BES 4.1.4 for our existing BIS users. For a user, I have added him to the BES, and all is working fine. He is sending and receivng mail etc, but he is getting the messages twice. Once via BES and one from the previous arrangement with BIS. I do not know how the mail was being forwarded in the old setup for BIS. There are no agent / rules defined in his mail file. He gets the emails from the old setup even when his pc is turned off. First, when I saw no rules, I thought that he must be using some forwarding program Mail Connect on his pc. I did not find any such program.

How else the mail was forwarded to the BB?

Any idea / help appreciated.

he is connected

From the VZW or other carrier BIS account, likely.

Default How to disable the BIS settings

Thanks but I think it the setting got to be here as mail comes to lotus notes and then gets forwarded vzw and then to BB device. In few setup (notes7) we have rules and for those users all I did was disable the rules and that is it. BES doing all work.

Do they have the Redirector installed on their PC by chance?

There is no redirector for Lotus Notes.

Thanks Penguin! (You learn something EVERY single day around here!) Do you have OWA access to your system? Are you sure on the rules?

Thanks all.

Yes, I have checked the mail file via designer or any other means. No rules / agents. Not sure OWS, how do I check that?

Ok wait.... (No laughing Penguin!) Duh! You are using notes...no OWA (Outlook). Do you have IMAP or POP3 access to your email server? They may have configured BIS to login via this method.

OWA is to Microsoft Exchange as iNotes is to Lotus Domino.

You need to follow the link that JSanders provided above.
BIS is likely the cause of the messages being delivered to the BlackBerry.

That is possible. So you are saying that it is possible that the BIS logs in using user name / pw, polls lotus notes mailbox and forwards any new email?

I know the vzw user name and pw what is the website to check and disable?

Once again, thanks all for helping us out here.

That is precisely how BIS functions.

Thanks. I was able to get in but found no setting dictating that BIS monitor the lotus notes mailbox and do the forwarding to device.

On the user's device... go to Options > Advanced Options > Service Book

Tell us if there's any CMIME Service Book in the list containing the email address which is receiving the duplicate messages.
If there's a Service Book called user@domain.com [CMIME], delete it.
