Default Dumb question from a newcomer

I am thinking of installing BlackBerry Connect on my PDA/Phone. However, I need someone to run me through how the system works.

My particular problem is that I live alternately in two (European) countries and keep a local SIM card which I swop in my phone (obviously this is to enjoy local call and data rates rather than expensive roaming charges).

If I install BBC and take out a subscription, will be system work independently of cellular service provider--ie using T-Mobile while in the UK and Cosmote while in Greece?

I really know very little about BBC (as is probably obvious) but I am sure someone will have a quick answer.

Incidentally, I was planning to install BBC on my Palm Treo 750 (SIM-free version) with Windows Mobile 6. Does anyone know if the software is yet available for the WM6 device?
