Default Address book/contacts hidden

Please Login to Remove!

I know they are there somewhere as I can search for a name and find it, but I no longer have a list of contacts in the address book.

I use Lotus Organizer as my DTM and I can see how many contacts I have but can't find them.

Was messing about looking to see what was where and I've obviously done something.

I've done another DT synch, they are all still in Lotus!

Can someone tell me how to get them back?

Go to your Address Book and click Menu to Filters. If any are checked, clear it. And see if that brings them back.

If you have no filters set, what about doing a hard reset? I assume you already did, but doesn't hurt to make sure.

Yes, a hard rest is pulling the battery.

Wait,.. if he backs up an empty address book database... there will be nothing to restore.

Restoring from an old backup you KNOW was good would work.

But first, go to Address Book > Options. At the bottom of that screen, what Number of Entries is present?

Check the number of entries first, please.

red_jude, I know you pulled the battery, but how about doing it again, with the BB powered on, and wait a full minute before you replace it.

aiharkness, I left the battery out for 30 minutes but no luck.

However, I've just been looking at the BB knowledge user guide and have managed to get them back again.
I had to make a new category - as I had none showing - press enter twice and hey presto!

Maybe I should stop messing about with it, theres just so much to do, I can't help it then I don't know how to put things right, not many things beat me, I suppose I'll lern eventually.

But thanks you guys, you're all so informative and have been a great help to me so far.

That's a new one for me. Doesn't make sense, but I won't quibble with what worked.

In the address>menu>filter I had no categories so I followed this -

Create a category for contacts, tasks, or memos
1. In the address book, task list, or memo list, press the Menu key.
2. Click Filter.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Click New.
5. Type a name for the category.
6. Press the Enter key twice.

I'm none the wiser but it worked...............

Sorry. You made sense, red_jude. I meant to say it didn't make sense to me that this was the fix.
