No, this is not possible. The BlackBerry browser is always the default.

What happens if I go to advanced options>applications and delete the bb browser?

Then you wouldn't have the BlackBerry browser and wouldn't be able to download items. It won't default to the Opera Mini browser.

Jeremy is correct, its been tried and it has never worked. That is a very rudimentary question that has been tried so many times by every new comer that is used to being able to customize a phone.

Maybe RIM needs to loosen up a bit after all their browser is not exactly winning any contests lately and is lagging behind. They should just allow the user to customize their own personal BB world.

And they shoudl give me my next bb free while they're at it.

But anyway, here's something slightly on topic, slightly off, hope no one minds the noobie I am:
in terms of deleting the bb internet browser - i can't use it, i'm not a BIS, BES, or w/e... and the extra cost of $40/month vs. the $7/month for unlimited mobile browsing means I'll never be switching anyway. I use Opera Mini, and love it. I do not (cannot) use BB Messenger or Browser, however, they are both always running in the background no matter how I close them. This must cause some drain on my battery, correct? Can I in fact get rid of them, what would be the potential benefits or problems down the road?
