Hey guys, im in the same boat as this guy over here, im getting the same error when i connect to the application loader and try to reinstall os on the 8100, it just gives me an error A:0x00000001, i have no idea how to fix this....Anyones help would be greatly appreciated

Question 1)
How did you initially delete everything from the device? It may be worthwhile running "javaloader.exe -usb wipe" or "JL_Cmder.exe" to do a fresh wipe to start.

Question 2)
You've mentioned that you can hear the device connecting and disconnecting within windows. Is the device re-booting as well (does the screen keep turning off and on)?

In my experience it is tricky to get the timing for steps a1 through a5 right. Try following those instructions a few times:
1) Run loader.exe /nojvm
2) remove and re-insert the battery from your device
3) plug your device into the USB immediately
4) click "Next" as soon as the USB is recognized (even if it shows "Unknown")

Try it a few times to see if you can manage to click "Next" before it goes to error 507.

Alright, so let me tell you.....

Now, the problem first happened when i used javaloader.exe to wipe the phone...Now, from what i can tell the wipe went fine

After I tried to use the apploader to install the fresh os, the apploader does recognize the phones pin and when i click next to install the os the first thing it tries to do is to read the boot rom, now this is where the device starts rebooting...From what i can tell its trying to read the phone when it starts up...and it seems as if the computer cant read the boot rom, so the phone goes into this booting loop where it turns on starts booting up than turns off, than it starts over again....After about 10 times of doing this, the apploader pops up with the error code A:0x00000001.

So from whatever i can tell, the jlcmder wipe killed the boot rom and the apploader needs to read that in order to install the OS.

So the problem im having is not getting the phone to pop up in apploader or anything like that, but to get apploader to read the boot rom and install the fresh os....

Any help would really be appreciated on this guys.....This is a really tuff one and i would really like to recover my phone from this....Please help me!

Whenever i've had a boot-loop like that going on i've been able to run loader.exe /nojvm and click Next in between reboots. It usually takes me a few tries to get the timing of the click right so that loader.exe catches the device between reboots.





Try it a few more times ... Let the device keep rebooting and keep trying to click Next as soon as you have the option.

Thanks for your advice mark,i actually tried that about 20 times now lol....I tried it on ever possible rebooting area of the phone....From the red light, to the spinning hour glass to the 507 screen....I just couldnt get the loader.exe to catch the phone, i kept getting a fatal error.....Anyone else happen to have any advice? Is there anyway to force the os onto the phone?

I would see if you can try a different computer to load the OS.

Unfortunately i dont have another computer that i can try it on though

How about if you go to your provider and ask help there? Or use their computer if you have to?

Hey, i appreciate all their help....Im not trying to seem pushy or anything, im just trying to get some help, cause this is a problem that is really rare and its hard to fix....I want to thank all of you for your help and input! I just wish i could get this phone up and working again :(

I actually work the provider and cant use the computers at work to update the os....They are all locked, and do not allow any third party software of anytype installed to them lol....I just dont know what to do

A friend, a family member? Nobody? No access to a PC of any kind that you can try this software on and see if you can connect to your phone?

this is exactly wot happened to me with my 8310. now the phone doesnt boot and getting stuck at 507 screen, whn i try to do the app loader its not going further than connecting to boot rom.

no one got a solution for this problem?

just to let you know that ive solved my problem ive download the latest blackberry desktop software, n used my mates laptop with windows vista.

everything went smooth and phn is ok now.

Just wanted to let everyone know the Unspecified error encountered [A:0x00000001] can be caused by a "bug" with your current installation of the Windows and the Blackberry Desktop Manager.

I have reinstalled the relevant Blackberry Desktop Manager (Granted I used BDM 4.6.1 which I managed to download from -w w w.vodafone.de/hilfe-support/blackberry/112014.h t m l-) and ROM Image onto a new install of XP. Presto the Pearl/s (UK Vodafone) 8100 which I have been previously trying to update with another PC with BDM versions 4.3 and 4.5 now don’t give any error while updating.

I suspect this issue could also relate to other users having issues with the update/reinstall of units with the 507 error screen.
