I have been told (officially) that traffic is going at about 80% of normal levels. They are preparing a root cause statement, but will not say before it is ready (which is a good idea).

For the people on hold... Pay for TX4 or TX5 support, wait on hold for 10 seconds.

It is all north america. All my PIN-PIN and SMS messages have gone through fine.

The best thing you can do right now is hide under your desk from your co-workers who are starting to go into withdrawls. Once RIM is back up, your servers will auto reconnect.

I concur-we notified our user base of the interruption and they weren't too pleased to hear this especially the one's that are out of town on business.

PIN to PIN device to device seems to be working, however PIN from BES Manager does not work for me.

Check the Application Event Log on your BES server(s)

Also, there is a srp connection tool called bbsrptest.exe in the Utility folder where your BES is installed.

Down here in Iowa, too. Went down at around 2:20pm Central and hasn't come back since. No PIN messaging, either. Last contact times for users all within 5 minutes of 2:20pm CST...except for our international users (non-North American) who, despite being on a N.American BES are still making contact.

SRP connection continuing to drop and re-establish non-stop since it went down earlier. I am, however, not seeing a huge number of what I'd traditionally call "errors."

BES 4.1.6 MR3, Exchange 2007 SP1, SQL 2005, Windows 2003 Server SP1. T-Mobile and Verizon = our preferred carriers.

Here in NY as of 5:20PM I am able to send and receive email, the servers are up but it will take a while for the bottle neck to be cleared.

I am still unable to perform a lookup but havent received a failed look up as of yet.

Anyone else seeing the same type of response?

TECHNOLOGY ALERT
from The Wall Street Journal.

Feb. 11, 2008

A widespread service outage hit BlackBerry users Monday afternoon. AT&T said it has been told by Research In Motion that the problem is with RIM's infrastructure, and is affecting all wireless carriers in North America. The disruption follows an outage last April that left millions of customers without email access.

FOR MORE INFORMATION, see:

WSJ.com - Login

However, for what it is worth I've received messages until 4:10 PM CST.

I have been getting a few random emails on my BB in NYC, but none from my BES. Starting to see a backup of email pending delivery on the BES...

Hopefully this will all be cleared up soon and I won't get any calls or need to stay up all night watching (especially as there is nothing we can do but wait on RIM).
