Default Protection

I have it for mine..don't really keep it on the kids' phones since they aren't new...but since mine ended up in the toilet one time...(clean toilet I might add ) I keep it on my phone.

Self insured.

Insurance on phones and BBs is just unwise, and is nothing but pre-paid repair. Keep the money yourself and use it.

Default Self Insured?

Is there a bb program for this self-insurance?
Is self-insurance just a form of being careful?

Wirelessly posted (8800: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8310/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Set aside $8-$10 a month for a new BlackBerry. After the year's warranty period, you have $96-$120 for a new BlackBerry if needed. Voila. Self insurance. And if you don't need it, you still have the $$, in your pocket.

I think with the insurance, you don't have to worry about being careful with it. I've dropped my 7100i quite a few times and it withstood breakage. Not sure how the 8130 will take hits. I've thought about removing the insurance but if I ever did run over it with my car I'd rather pay a small deductible verses $300+ for a replacement.
