Added Gmail to BBerry but cannot send from Gmail
 

I was successfully able to add my Gmail address so that I get Gmail email to my bberry; however, when I reply to those messages or when I compose messages, it comes from my original address (on new compose messages, it only has to: from:, subject:)
Any ideas how to set this up?

Reply does not provide the option to edit the send using field. However, if you forward you will be able to do so. You also should have the gmail address option in send using when you compose. If this is not the case, try a hard reset. If that isn't the cure, make sure you actually have the gmail service books on the blackberry. If you do not, resend service books.

Thanks for the response. In the service book, I now see it has "disallowed" for my gmail account. How do I change or override this? This device was originally configured by my work IT to be set up for my work email.

You need to talk to your IT people. What you are seeing is because of IT policy, I believe. There is nothing you can or should try and do yourself.

EDIT: Also, I'm betting your IT people will not change it.

i agree, we can't do anything but say "okay... of course... i understand... it's the policy..."
