This has been thrown around a lot but the problem just popped up for me and I can't remember how to fix it.

When I receive an email, upon taking the blackberry out of the holster, the email screen usually pops up and I can read the just-received email. This "default" feature stopped working for me today after I rebooted and resent service books (I wasn't receiving emails at all for some reason). Now the received emails do not auto open (ironically most of posts want it to be this way!). How do I get the auto open feature back? My magnet is good, I've checked my profile and notification options, etc. but i must be missing something. This happened to me a couple years back but I can't remember how it got fixed. thanks.

The message auto open upon retrieval from the holster is not a feature you can toggle on or off. If you pull the BB from the holster within the first 15-20 seconds of email arrival, it will open to that email.

If you wait longer, it won't. Those are the options, wait or not.

The OP has lost the auto-open somehow . . .

I don't know of anything other than trying the hard reset again and wait longer before you put the battery back.

One other idea, stab in the dark, is check your available memory.

Yea, but if the OP is not pulling the BB from the holster within the first 15-20 seconds of a message receipt, it won't happen.

ah. I took the battery out for 31 seconds and now it is back to normal. It was my third hard reboot!
