Default Can't get bbReply to work

Please Login to Remove!

I use BES and BWC for mail. I installed bbReply OTA and rebooted by 7250, then I configured two email addresses. However, I can't see a "Set ReplyTo" option in my menu, or any other way to use it. Did I miss something in the set up?? I see it in my >Options>Applications, and it shows the correct version (1.1). I'm confused...

BTW, I've seen other threads discuss how you can use BWC to set reply to addresses. However, the Sprint BWC will only let you set one reply to, which is why I looked at using bbReply. Are there other suggestions that I'm missing to show the right reply to from the several addresses I have coming into the 7250?

I had the same problem and eventually just gave up.

I don't think bbReply would really do what I wanted anyway. I think bbReply just determines which e-mail address receives the response when someone to whom you sent an e-mail from the BB replies. It does not change the e-mail address that appears in the "From" field when someone receives an e-mail from the BB. I think the latter is determined in BWC and cannot be changed on the device. I'd like to hear that I'm wrong, though.

Did you upgrade to the new OS from TMO? I have this same problem with the reply to feature in PD since I upgraded my OS. When I down grade I get reply back in the menus but when I upgrade they go away.

Reboot your berry, do you get an uncaught exception when it first starts up? I believe that is the clue to the missing menu entries...

WHOOPS! I just noticed your with Sprint so I guess you didn't use the new TMO OS... Sorry,

Soapm, I too upgraded and can no longer use BBReply. I get the same java.lang.Error. I have tried installing OTA and with Javaloader still nothing. Pretty Odd!

Do you have a TMO 7290? That's what I have...

For what it's worth, it isn't working for me, either - no errors that I've seen, but no menu items appear and nothing happens, either. I have OS version 4.0.0.198, and didn't upgrade myself - it came from T-Mobile with that version earlier this week.

Default BBReply does work

I have a 7100g and "thought" it wasn't working too. There are a couple of things I have figured out. First, after you do the install you MUST take out the battery, then replace it and turn the BB back on. I guess I didn't realize that it's not really like a cell phone that goes through the entire boot process when you turn it off, then on. In order for that to happen you have to pop the battery. THEN, you will have the "Set Replyto" option in your compose message window when you click the trackwheel and you can choose any of the addresses you have setup.

When you test, you MUST look at the message headers in order to see that it's working - and it does work. The mistake I was making is that I "thought" the FROM address would change in the message (that is, after all, the one that the recipients SEE). However, the from address will remain whichever one you choose in your profile. BUT the reply-to address (which you can't see just by looking at the message) will in fact be the address you selected via BBReply. That's not really what I wanted (well it is partially) but I wanted my recipients to SEE the address in the FROM field that I chose. The one good thing is that the program DOES keep people from hitting reply and then their reply message goes straight to your BB and bypasses your actual mailbox.

Hope that helps someone.
