Hi everyone,

I just got a Curve to start testing at work. I haven't set up a BES server yet, so I was planning to use it with the BIS that AT&T provides. The problem is that I don't seem to have the option to make an account IMAP, and POP is a pain because I having to mark everything read twice.

Can anyone help with this? The Help files say it should give me the option, but it doesn't.

do you have access to your work email through OWA? If so then you should be able to add the email without much trouble. For *most* you dont need to put in any server information at all, just your email address and password

We don't actually have an Exchange server up and running yet. We're currently using Sendmail configured for both POP and IMAP. It'll add the account with just my address and password as a POP account, but I'd really like to have it retrieve using IMAP.

This issue goes away in a couple months when I get Exchange online and a BES server, but I need this as an interim.

There are instructions on the BIS site to do this. You have to configure an account, but provide no password (I think). It's a way to force BIS to let you enter the IMAP information.

Actually, the Help files mention that specifically, but when I use that method I am not asked about POP or IMAP during the process.

Is that something that can vary by BIS implementation?
