I've always had the option. It deletes the email from your BWC if you delete if from your handheld so you don't have to go into the BWC to delete messages. Good so that you don't fill your mailbox if you get a lot of emails and can't get to the BWC to delete them.

Default permanent delete doesn't work

I have my account set to permanently delete when I delete from handheld. It doesn't do it. I keep getting messages that my mailbox is full & have to log on to manually delete emails. This is a PAIN! Anybody have a solution?

When you delete from your handheld, try doing a Reconcile Now from the messages options.

When I click on Options, I see Email Reconciliation. When I click on that I have no choices bu Save and Close. Am I missing something?

The permanent deletion option won't work if you do a "delete prior". Only if you delete individual emails.

To improve space in the box, try reducing the number of days before messages are "auto aged".....

I too hate this and can't get it to work. I am on Cingular, which might be part of the problem.

When I go to options on my 8700 there isn't a "Reconcile Now' option, but when I go from the messsages into Options/Email Reconcilation then there are 3 options. If clicked on the trackwheel, I got an option for "delete mail from webclient" or something like that. I did it 3 times, when out of options then back in, and the option was no longer there. I then signed into my webclient and my inbox was still full, even though my inbox on my handheld only has 1 message.

It doesn't work :(

I always delete individually - never used the prior. I am on Nextel with a 7520.

Don't know if the BIS used on T-MO works but is does use MAPI. Lets hope when the carriers go to BIS this will work.

On my BB the "Reconcile Now" command is not in the Message options, it's on the Message App Menu, right below the Options selection. You won't see it if you don't scroll far enough.

Hope this helps.

I don't have any choices under email reconciliation - just save & close.

Only other thing I can suggest is to resend service books.
Or reinstall OS.

Default Success!

I requested a new service book from the BB Webmail - Profile. Lo and behold, I have Reconcile Now below Options. I clicked it & now only have 1 message on the server - just like I should.

I requested a new service book too, but before I got it, I deleted my last email on the handheld and did a reconcile now, then refreshed my webclient and it worked. I then got the sevice book on the handheld. So maybe it is ok now, only time will tell....

Upon further testing, it works and doesn't. I sent myself 3 test messages and had the service book in my inbox on both the handheld and webclient. I deleted all but the last message and did a resync now and nothing happened. When I deleted the last message all but the first message was deleted from the webclient, not great but better than before

Are you still logged into the BWC when you do the reconcile? That also might affect the transaction.

Hope this helps.
