Default How many blackberries have you gone through?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,
I am about to take posession of my 4th 7520 Nextel. Phone #1 was error 365,Phone #2 was no error just a blank screen and Phone #3 was an error 544. Each phone lasts about 2 months and all three were from adding software. I sure wish there were more field fixes for this phone.I love my Blackberry and can"t stand to be without it.I use my trusty I90 while I wait for my Blackberry to return but man...this I90 is boring!!

How many Blackberries have you gone through?

If I go through 50 of these phone I ain"t giving this phone up!!

What software are you loading to end up with so many JVMs (which, byt the way, rarely require a replacement). I have been using a BB since the days of the 950 (950, 957, 5810, 6710, 6210, 7230, 7730, 7100t and now 7290) and have NEVER had to have one replaced. Our replacement rate (we have close to 1000) is less than 1%.

I'm on my third 7290 - first had a dead "H" key the second had a fulty mic. The current 7290 I use seems to be fine. My wife went through three 7100's - keys were poping off one, second cut out during calls and the last had a scroll wheel problem at that point enough was enough and she went back to her 7780. To this day I say the 67xx/77xx are the "toughberry" of the Blackberry line. I've had a 6710 and 7780 and I swear you could drop, kick, bounce you name it and they would take a beating, the newer models I'm not so sure?

Previously enjoyed: 957, 6710, 7280, 7780 (Just may go back to it) Current - 7290

I've had a 6710, 7780, 7290. 7780 is still my favorite, though the 7290's memory and Bluetooth are pretty compelling. I've dropped each of them a dozen times. Never had a problem (except for the fact that I'm a klutz).

I have owned a 6750>7750>7280>7290>7100>7250. I have never had any reliability problems although I trashed a 7290 when I drove over it with a truck (2002 Avalanche)

I'm on my second 7510, since they were first released fr Nextel. The battery indicator did not work on the last one, but since I had the insurance, I walked out with my new one the same day.

Same here, second nexte, had a 7510 with a faulty owner. I found out that the drop limit for it was 458. The screen called mercy on 459 and all of the shattered.. Good for me though... 7520 is a huge upgrade..

On my 3rd....

I got the 7230 last sept 2004...I wasn't too pleased with the build quality and the frame logo started to wear off. Then the 7280 came out with the metallic screen frame last fall 2004 and I upraded to that on T-Mobile, then the 7290 for cingular came out and I wanted that but didn't want cingular as my carrier and I thought the T-Mobile 7100 series was UGLY as hell!
So I waited until the silver/grey T-mobile 7290 came out and got it the day after it came out....
I'm so happy, most happy, with the 7290 compared to the older RIMs

I've had the 957 (2MB version), 957 (4MB version), 7280, 7780, 7290 (three of these; weird audio problem with outgoing audio on bluetooth--same problem on all), and finally the 7250--which I love.

Only the first 957 had a problem with the "w" key...no other problems with keys or trackwheels...

I've had a 6230, 7230, 7100t, and two 7290's (simultaneous). I've never had problems with any of them.

I've gone thru 950, 6710, 7280, and now the 7290. I've dropped all of these, but mostly from waist height's and I must say all the bb's are really tough and difficult to break. Prior to bb I was using the Palm and the screen broke on me when I accidently dropped a pencil case on it. So, the final verdict for me is bb's are still the best. My phone and bluetooth work superbly on the 7290.

I have had 3. My first 7510 got pulled to another user (part of a pilot for testing). Once I got it back, that unit died two weeks later (sticky keys, loud buzz, other problems). They upgraded to the 7520. Unless this one dies, they will have to knock me out cold to get it.
