Default outlook 2003 public calendar sync

Please Login to Remove!

We have the blackberry 7250's and currently sync it into outlook. Now each user shares a public calendar through outlook. I need to figure out how to have them sync with the public calendar instead of the personal calendar. Its syncs fine to the personal outlook calendar, but we need it to adjust in the public instead. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is that mailbox attached to all users mapi profile? If not it won't sync.

Per RIM...you cannot wirelessly sync with Public Folders at this time. (Not sure if that means they ever will, but...) You can sync Public Folders if you cradle up but then you can't do wireless syncs anymore, its "either or".

Thanks for the replies. Honestly if it will work in the cradle then that would be the way we will have to sync, which wont be a problem. Im just not sure how to make it sync to the public instead of the default calendar. Right now every time we cradle and sync it only does it in the default, and i cant seem to find a way to get it to go to public instead. Thanks again.

JMAXSON, I may be misunderstanding your problem, but have you tried designating the public folder as the default?

I havent been able to find a way to make the public shared calendar the default. It seems Outlook doesnt want to make it that easy. Evertime we sync it goes to the persons private calendar, not the shared one. I simply want it to sync to the public/shared calendar instead. Thanks!

Just bought a 2005 Audi A6,with Bluetooth system in it; went to use Blackberry 7290 in it, and the car vidoe screen just says "Please wait......" Blackberry thinks Bluetooth is active, etc.....but....it is not working right. It appears that RIM devices are not supported by Audi's Bluetooth...anyone have any bright ideas about how to fix?

mfinio.....There is a Bluetooth thread on this forum. You really need to post this question there, not here on this "Public Folder" discussion.

JMAXON....You can sync multiple calendars to your berry, just configure it through Desktop Manager. Are you wanting to do that or are you not wanting to sync with the Personal calendar at all? I'm not sure that this is available. I'm not looking at the screen right now but maybe you can just pick the public folder as an additional calendar and then delete the default??? I haven't tried this before.

JMAXSON, for the sake of clarification, is the problem: (1) that changes made on the BBs aren't being reflected in the public folder (but *are* being reflected in the particular user's personal calendar); (2) that the BBs are getting data only from the personal calendar; or (3) something else? And is the default problem (1) that Intellisync does not permit you to select the public folder as the default; or (2) that it is selected as the default but the changes are nevertheless going to the respective personal calendars?

I have a shared work calendar and a couple of personal calendars synched w/ my BB, and through the Desktop Manager/Intellisync I've been able to switch the default among the various calendars, with good results. But my work calendar is not shared as a public folder (we just have rights to a common calendar in someone's mailbox), and I don't have rights to create any public folders w/o bugging our Exchange administrator, so I can't run any experiments. I've been thinking about making a public folder for our contacts, but if there will be sync problems, it's not worth it.
