Unhappy newbie having problems with yahoo messenger

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all...

I'm a newbie with the 8320 by T-Mobile.

I've been having problems with Yahoo Messenger.

It would not allow me to log on from the yahoo messenger that already came installed with the phone.

So I went to the blackberry site and downloaded the 2.0 version.

When I downloaded the new version, the Yahoo messenger icon disappeared.

I read forums related to this issue and tried everything. I deleted the application, took the battery out, and I even wiped out the blackberry to its factory setting.

However I am still not getting a Yahoo Messenger icon.

AS OF RIGHT NOW, I deleted the Yahoo Messenger from the Application.

BUT, if I look into the module... the 1.0 Version Yahoo Messenger is still there.
And there is no way/option for me to go ahead and delete this module.

I really need your expertise and help. I am really sad and upset.

Thank you all.

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan from T-Mobile? If not, I'm sure Yahoo! Messenger won't work. What do I need a Data Plan for? - BlackBerryFAQ

I suggest you read this thread: http://www.blackberryforums.com/wifi...-can-t-do.html

You might also want to try JiveTalk as it now works over WiFi--I haven't actually tried it as I have been on a BB data plan since Day One.

Good luck and welcome to the forums.

The BlackBerry Data Plan? BIS Add-on? Or just the generic data plan?

Not sure if this matters but have you already setup your TCP/APN settings? What are the TCP and APN settings? - BlackBerryFAQ
Try a battery-pull afterwards and re-download YM from the mobile.blackberry.com site from your Browser.
Next time though, don't double-post as it's a no-no newbie having problems with yahoo messenger
Let me know if you got your issue resolved.

Unhappy

anybody had similar issues with the Yahoo Messenger?

If so how did you get rid of the module that contained yahoo messenger 1.0 even after Yahoo Messenger was deleted from Application?

I have the 8320 and there is no option to "delete" when I click the menu button once I enter the module...

Please help.
