For instant mail delivery to your BB, just type in your username and password at BIS email setup and let the BIS use the automatic detection. It will find Godaddy's email notification server link between them and RIM.

What i have seen happen with some email account is that the email provider doesnt have the email on the server long enough for the blackberry server to pick it up. yahoo, gmail and i belive aol have a partnership with blackberry so they always go right thru. So if go daddy only has the email on the server for 10 minutes and blackberry checks it everry 15 minutes then it wont download anything to your device but what happens when you delete the email account on blackberries side and readd it enough times it can start polling for the emails sooner than the 15 minutes and resolve the issue

Andwaine26, why wouldn't they be keeping the email on their server for longer than 10 minutes? I am not sure what you are getting at.

This thread is focusing on IMAP setup for GoDaddy, which is instant push to your BB, not the routine 15 min BIS cycle.

Yes. All of your issues are because you are using the Pop3 setup instead of IMAP.

Delete the account again from BIS. Add the account from your phone. You should only have to enter your email address and password. That's it and nothing else. No need to enter all the other info you have listed. It should default to IMAP setup, but if you have issues with it, let me know.
Ok, did that...the reason I did it the way I did was because the "directions" I found on here (which I posted again for verification) do not allow for you to add the acct from your phone...here are the directions I posted and was told to use:

1. Delete the account from BIS.2. Pull that battery from your blackberry.3. Login to your godaddy admin and delete the email account.4. I waited about 10 minutes (probably could wait less) then recreate the email account.5. Add the account in BIS.6. Resend service books (possibly overkill, but I did it anyway).7. Put battery back in blackberry.8. Power up.

5 says to add acct before you have your battery back in the phone...the only way to do that is from pc, which is what I did...

We'll see if this fixes it...thanx...

Yes. I see what you are saying. If your going to add the account through BIS from your desktop, then all you need to do is just enter your email address and password and forget all the other info. That will give you the IMAP setup. Which will be instant email delivery and copy sent messages to your webmail.

You can setup your account from your phone as well, but I agree... it would be hard for you to do with the battery pulled. Doing it from BIS on your desktop will work just fine.

Just be sure that when you are adding your account in BIS that you are only entering your email address and password. That will give you the IMAP setup, which is what you want. If you enter all the other info (ie POP3 and server, port info), that will give you the POP3 setup, which you don't want.

After I entered my acct info I went in to look at the configuration and add my signature...it had pop3 and the port listed there...all I did to set it up was log into my acct from phone, enter email and pword...

Under ADVANCED SETTINGS in BIS, I show the server to be: rimimap.secureserver.net

Email Server Type: IMAP

Port: 143 (grayed out and can't be manually changed)

Timeout: 120 seconds

SSL box is unchecked.

You need to change the settings to what I mentioned above.

FYI, when you uncheck SSL, the port automatically changes to 143.

Just change the server, and uncheck the SSL, click save, resend service books, and you should be good to go.

But why isn't my settings being set to that automatically like it did for you?

I am guessing that BIS is associating POP3 setup with your Device Pin, since that's how you originally set it up. Even though you delete the account, it may be keeping it as the default setup for your device.

Just change them this one time, and all should be good.

ok...i think i have it working now...here's what i had to do:

from the PC (would not work at all from the phone - maybe because it remembers that i had pop configured previously, as you stated) i deleted the acct...then i selected to add a new acct...i input the email address but NOT the password...it said there was an issue do i want to manually configure and i said yes...i then selected to input the information and NOT let it auto detect...then i was able to inpu the server as rimimap.secureserver.net - which set the port correctly...

now, let's see how this works...thanks for the help...

I would say to go through the steps outlined in the original fix now.

1. Delete the account from BIS.

2. Pull that battery from your blackberry.

3. Login to your godaddy admin and delete the email account.

4. I waited about 10 minutes (probably could wait less) then recreate the email account.

5. Add the account in BIS.

6. Resend service books (possibly overkill, but I did it anyway).

7. Put battery back in blackberry.

8. Power up.

Hopefully enjoy email again.
