I am brand new to the BB world, but with my Palm (please forgive me) devices, Intellisync does a fine job of offline email sync as well as all the other Outlook stuff. Is there not some equivalent software in the BB world?

I bought a used ATT 7280 which I intend to use for only phone, SMS and offline sync (I have no need for instant data, just a nice QWERTY) but wish to sync my email each morning and evening when at home.

There is no e-mail syncing on a BlackBerry. Contacts, calendar, notes and tasks are synced, but e-mail is not. E-mail is pushed to the BlackBerry (and you need the data plan for that). Without the data plan, no e-mail.
