Do you think this means my dates simply can't get archived, and I have no choice but keep them all, or delete a bunch of years? thanks.

something isnt right with that. those old appts should be able to be archived. if not why not create a backup of your entire outlook mailbox and then just wipe all the appts and start fresh? so basically the backup will serve as your archive for the time being

Thanks for sticking with me! I think having done two way synchs at some point with the BB led to the "date" recognition problem in Outlook (as per the note 2 above), in that entries were put in at later dates than the actual date. So this is basically what I ended up doing. I first transferred about 3 years of data to the BB. Then I archived the entire Outlook address book (which worked because it didn't have the "date" recognition problem per that note 2 above), and then put the 3 years of BB data back on Outlook.

What I can't figure out how to do is access that archived file. I'm not too worried as it saved 27 meg of data on my computer, so I know it's there, but it isn't intuitive to me how to view it. Any experience with that? thanks.

John

Okay, feel kind of dumb, but the archive folder is listed in folder lists, so that's all set.
