I'm attempting to PIN message my wife (She has a Curve) from my 8700g. Both she and I have sent each other messages, and have pending statuses when looking at Messenger. What are we doing wrong? Nothing seems to be working correctly.
Thanks.

Wirelessly posted (blackberry 950)

Did you add contact properly?

Go into BBM

Press menu button select add contact

Scroll to contact you want to add when they are highlighted press berry, menu button.

Select request by PIN

Requesting by email is very sketchy

EZ,

I've tried that three times now. There are three entries in my Pending area of BBM. My wife never receives anything from me.

Do both of you have data plans? I only ask cause that usually is the issue on these questions.

ok cool. What about just sending here a PIN message with out the BBM? Have you tried that. Are you adding her by her pin or Email?

ok can you send each other text messages at all? i highly doubt your blackberry messenger app is corrupt but it seems that the PIN message from the network isnt being sent, hence being a network issue. did you call tmob?

I'm not sure her email is set up yet, but I've tried sending the PIN message both from address book via her contact and from BBM. Same result. I even tried a battery pull on my 8700, but to no avail.

do both of you have upper case edge/gprs?
have you ever been able to do it before in the past?
are you two able to browse the web on your phones?

go to:
[settings] > options > advanced options > host routing table > menu button > register now.

try it again.

I have uppercase EDGE; she has edge. Significant?
We can both access the web.
We'll try your last suggestion and get back to you.

Default BB Messenger

I had same problem. I finnaly got it to work by deleting any email addresses in the contact screen for that contact. Input each others pin in the contact screen and resend and it will work. Then you can go back and put the email addresses back in. For some reason it defaults to sending it by email and does not let you change how you send the request.

Make sure that it isn't being blocked by the firewall.

Options -> Security Options -> Firewall - make sure that PIN is not set to blocked.
