Default Blackberry 8800 mail & Ipod Touch mail

Please Login to Remove!

I've searched the archives and find no discussion of this issue. Probably because my ignorance is exposed by the quesiton.

Can I use both the Blackberry 8800 - not on BES - and the IPOD Touch to sync and receive email on the same email account?

Thanks.

Should not be a problem, but it sounds like a complicated life man.

The iPOD syncs with your desktop when you tether. The BB receives email wirelessly directly from an interface with your ISP's mail server before it gets to your PC.

Did you know you can take all of your songs from iTunes and convert them to your BB?

My iPod has not moved from its docking craddle in over a year. I think it actually has dust building up on it

Good luck. Welcome to the forums.

You may want to consider using one or the other. I assume you have been told that already.

thanks all for the courteous and well informed posts.

I agree, the Ipod Touch is redundant in most respects however I do a lot of browsing on the fly in places with wifi. In the web browsing area I believe the Touch to be superior. The responses to this post, for example, were very difficult to find on the BB browser. I found them quickly in the Touch browser.

The WiFi performance of the 8800 is disappointing also. In head to head tests I've found the Touch to be faster opening the same pages on the same WiFi. Note that this is anecdotal and not the specific and controlled testing I've seen some of you do.

Second, my 8800 WiFi fades in and out a lot in the same location. This is a consistent problem and is quite disappointing.

The Touch is a tool my art. The BB a concession to my business.

Thanks again.

To be more specific. If you use IMAP for your e-mail rather than POP. Your touch and your bb will be more or less in sync with each other. Meaning if you delete it off your bb it will be gone from your touch etc...If you use POP - you can still get your mail on both devices but you would have to manage them each individually. I have this same setup (using IMAP).

I also agree with you. Surfing the web on a BB doesn't compare in any way to surfing the web on a touch.
