We are trying to implement a Blackberry 7780 handheld that uses Cingular as a service provider. We are not using a BES at this time. We are using a Windows XP Pro laptop/docking station w Outllok 2002. When we delete e-mail messages in Outlook it propagates the deletes to the handheld. However, the person using the device is becoming frustrated because he wants to be able to delete e-mail on the Blackberry and then when he places in the cradle the next morning, he wants it to make the corresponding deletes in the Oulook inbox. This is not happening and we are not having any success figuring it out.

Is this do-able without being on a BES?

I believe you can get this to work without a BES. I am not 100% sure, but I think the settings are either in the Redirector setup process, or in the "Configure PIM" settings that you can change just before performing a sync. Sorry I can't be of more help.

We have been experiencing the opposite problem. Deletes in Outlook won't delete on BB even with hard sync. BB 7520 - BES. If anyone can solve this one I would sure like to hear about it...... I have tried every setting in the desktop and the BB!!

I am a new user to the blackberry as well. I am experiencing the same issue where the deleted message on the blackberry does not get deleted in outlook. The opposite is working where if deleted in outlook, it gets deleted on the bb. anyone have the answer?

You cannot get true sync without BES. Better to get BES or BES hosting (if you're a small enterprise).
