Wirelessly posted

That is correct on pay and go you get calls and texts only.

I too got my bb of eBay and I run it on a simplicity pay monthly sim, prices for these start at 15 for 200mins & 200 texts. This contract is for a minimum of 1 month only so no long term contract.
If you want all the BB features to work you can add on a blackberry internet service tariff for 10 this contract is for a minimum of 6 months so you would have to keep the voice contract for the duration.

Hope this helps.

Nope. You have to have a (BB) data plan for data services. Just like you have to have a voice plan for voice services...

Hi

You need to contact o2 and ask for the Blackberry Internet Service tariff for 10 to be added to your voice package.

BlackBerry from O2 - O2 Unlimited BlackBerry tariff for consumers

Before you do that I am going to post another link in a minute regarding buying a BB from ebay. Did the seller of your BB have a Blackberry Internet Service account? if so check that he/she has or will have his PIN released to enable you to set up your email.

EDIT: here is the link, please read it.
