i have just bought a blackberry 8300 off ebay,im o2 payg, i was told i could use it as a normal phone mms browser etc,but i cant, calls and sms r gr8, but the rest arent, ive been to o2 and they said its only a contract phone and that i wouldnt be able to get settings, but i would have thought if u can buy them in the shop sim free that isnt the case, can anybody help, thnx for taking the time to rad this. help
That is correct on pay and go you get calls and texts only.
I too got my bb of eBay and I run it on a simplicity pay monthly sim, prices for these start at £15 for 200mins & 200 texts. This contract is for a minimum of 1 month only so no long term contract.
If you want all the BB features to work you can add on a blackberry internet service tariff for £10 this contract is for a minimum of 6 months so you would have to keep the voice contract for the duration.
thnx foxglove for your reply, is helpful, i'm on the simplicity pay monthly,i'm paying £15 and get unlimited calls and texts, but how would i go about getting the blackberry internet service, when i bought the phone,it didnt come with anything, just the charger, i have been on the net looking for a blackberry contact number but not found anything,if you wouldn't mind helping me out on this one too i'd be very grateful. and thnx to everyone else who has replied i'm very grateful
Before you do that I am going to post another link in a minute regarding buying a BB from ebay. Did the seller of your BB have a Blackberry Internet Service account? if so check that he/she has or will have his PIN released to enable you to set up your email.
