Default Ringtones on BB7520

Please Login to Remove!

I know the BB only accepts midi files....got that part down - no question on that.

However, ive downloaded a bunch of midi ringtones, and only like 10% of them play normal. Basic ones work fine. However, if i download musical midis (like actual songs) they play like a couple beeps and you cant even tell its the song.

for example:

point your browser to here:
www.iiox.com/blackberry/ringtones/

the nokia, hampster, whistle ringtones work fine.

try playing breakthehabit, drugballad, intheair, messageina...
none of those play correctly. on the pc they do, but not on the bb. they are all midi file type 0 (designed to play on older nextels such as the i90, 95, etc)

any clue? is the bb limited to certain midi types? never heard of this type of problem before.

(sorry if this is in the wrong forum - didnt see any spot specifically for ringtones/etc)

Outside of the hundreds of threads on ringtones... Hmmm...

The 7520 only supports single channel midi files. That's why most of the ringtones don't work. The 7100 has better ringtone support, but those of us without them have very limited ringtones to choose from..

sorry for making another ringtone thread. i know theres always noobs posting about them. i searched on them, and the only threads i could find about ringtones were people asking "where can i download them???". stuff like that. i couldnt find anything relative to this type of situation. but i guess that answers my question. now to go find single channel midis somehow

Ahha - that's the $64,000 Question.

mobile.blackberry.com has a few (lame) ones.

Try this one - http://www.8ung.at/morph/ - I haven't been there in a while.

http://www.partnersinrhyme.com go to the free midi section and www.mobile9.com
you can preview the tones via computer then use BB broswer to get them.

Add www.8ung.at/morph (Do it from the blackberry) you can save and play them back even on a lame 7250. Also tje Mono play better than the Poly
