I'm currently looking into switching over from my Tmobile Sidekick 2 to a Blackberry 7290 but I've got a few questions first:

1. Is there a way to view/sort incomming messages by the associated email account it was sent to? If not are there any third party applications that does this?

2. Is the 7290 still limited to only 10mb of email storage, despite having 32mb of RAM? Is there anyway to expand the memory allocated to emails?

I'd really appreciate if anyone could answer any of the above questions..i'm lookng to purchase a BB sometime in the near future. Thanks for any respones!!

No and none that I am aware of.

The 7290 isn't limited to 10MB - perhaps the BWC account is limited. My T-Mobile BWC is limited to 10 MB, but I rarely use it. That is not a BB limitation - I've never heard of any mail limits on the BB itself outside of the physical memory (32 MB - OS).

For question 1...could you not use the BWC to filter emails from each account off to different folders, and then view the seperate folders on the handheld.

The 7100 allows you to search for names in the "To" field of mesages to filter them...does the 7290 not do this?

1) Nope, nope

2) T-Mobile's BWC isn't limited to 10MB, RIM recently increased the minimum storage to 25MB, however, you can always call and ask to be upgraded to 100MB -- at no cost. The same holds true for Rogers

I've just tested this now...and it works fine

I have a 7100 with T-Mobile.

The steps were:

Go into BWC
Create 2 new folders...one for each email account I want to seperate.
Create 2 new filters to send emails for the seperate accounts to their respective folders.

When the handset reconciles, the new folders show up, and you can view them seperately through the "View folders" option.

Sort of, you can create serches that work on hot keys. Yes, you can make a searrch for all messages sent to account XXX then set it to run when you puch alt x. That is what i do to see the boss etc...

Well that'll work i guess, i'd really prefer if that "Filters with folders" option worked. But you can't get everything you want ...thanks for the help

Can someone tell me why the method I mentioned won't work. Surely the BWC you guys have is pretty much the same as ours in the UK.

Forgot to mention in the above post BTW...I could use that method on more than 2 accounts......I just used 2 for testing purposes
