Finally breaking out of the palm os shell and checking out modern tech! Need advice on blackberry. I will use as much or more day to day as pda vs phone. I am in the medical prof and will use/carry in the hosp using medical software/calander type stuff. Not much for email and browsing the web. Prefer larger, keyboard like on the 7290......I text alot to wife I don't care much about camera. Thanks in advance!!!!!!

My exposure has been to more recent devices and I am not sure if the old have as much memory as the new ones. I mention this because you spoke of medical applications. A lot of physicians at my organization use Epocrates and it works well on the BB but it does eat up 9mb of space. Whatever device you use you will want to review the memory optimization thread under General Blackberry Discussions to free up space for your application(s).

You will enjoy the stability coming from palm arena!

Go with a bberry, probably the new 8xxx series.

I have extensive palm, wm and now berry experience and trust me you won't be disappointed with the berry

I don't have any BB now......was at CompUSA getting something and was browsing......clerk didn't know much but showed me the 7290 and the pearl. The pearl was too small for me, prefer the full keyboard. I use epocrates and don't mind the memory usage! Keep the advice coming.....thanks!

You have to plan your storage. Once you free up enough memory you will be fine. But if you don't you will wind up losing call logs and all of your SMS messages.

Go to a store and check out the 83xx series curve and/or the 88xx series. Both have full qwerty keyboards, plenty of memory and the screen resolution on the curve is gorgeous!

The 7290 is old but usable. It also does not have the memory storage of newer devices.

My nephew just got in from college......ironic he has the 8310! He dumped my old Treo that I gave him last year. Dropped once too many times! Played with the 8310 and really liked it! Will take the plunge......on sale at ATT store!
