Exclamation ADSL vs CABLE SERVICE QUESTION

Please Login to Remove!

LOOONG.........
I DO HAVE AN ADSL INTERNET SERVICE INSTALLED IN MY HOUSE, ALSO I'M USING A VERY POPULAR LINKSYS WIRELESS ROUTER WITH ONLY A MAC ADDRESS FILTER RESTRICTION, NO WAP OR WEP SECURITY INSTALLED.

PROBLEM IS THAT IT'S BEEN IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ONLINE IN MY 8320 BB USING THE WiFi BROWSER, THE BB FINDS THE WIRELESS NETWORK EASILY AND CONNECTS TO IT, BUT IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO SURF THE WEB.....

IF I GO TO A PLACE WITH PUBLIC OPEN WIRELESS SIGNAL, I CAN SURF THE WEB WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS......

QUESTIONS:
IS IT POSSIBLE THAT A ADSL SERVICE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE AGAINST A CABLE SERVICE ?
DO I HAVE TO SET MY BB DIFFERENT IN ORDER TO CONNECT TO AN ADSL INTERNET SERVICE ??
ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE APPRECIATED

First, please don't post in all caps. It appears as though you're YELLING.

Yes, there is a difference between cable and DSL and generally cable works the best. However, it shouldn't cause the problem you're having. I assume you've entered the mac address into your mac address filter? Have you tried turning off mac address filtering just to test and see if you can get the BB online then?

Wirelessly posted

Some routers do best with a static IP rather than a dynamic IP. Dsl shouldn't be a problem liked stated above cable is better but shouldn't matter.

I have done everthing possible, I have disabled the mac address filter, also I have change from DHCP to Static and also no results, so the situation is getting more difficult to understand.....
